About the show:

Get ready to experience the explosive music scene from the decade that produced the most significant, daring and controversial icons of our time – the Icons of the 80s.

Featuring an 10-piece cast, this funky production will take you back to those pop stars that made their mark on musical history with outrageous fashion statements, catchy hit songs and saucy dance moves.

We cast our minds and memory banks back in time to when Michael Jackson launched his Thriller album, Madonna performed Pappa Don’t Preach for the first time on MTV, Cyndi Lauper and Adam Ant dazzled the pop world with colourful costumes and make-up, Eurythmics sang about Sweet Dreams, and Brit pop ruled the airwaves with boy band Wham!

The 80s also featured rock from iconic groups like Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Dire Straits and INXS. We were spoilt with the gritty talents of Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner, Bonnie Tyler and Bryan Adams, and were also treated to the silky smooth voices of Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross with the epic ballad Endless Love.

Janet Jackson and Prince added the funk and soul with songs When Doves Cry and What have you done for me lately.

We were also entertained in the romantic rock era with bands such as Duran Duran and artists like Phil Collins with Separate Lives.

The seventies icons that lived into the eighties and beyond also make an appearance. Think Queen and David Bowie with Under Pressure, Elton Stevie Wonder and Dionne Warwrick with That’s what friends are for.

These icons were no ordinary performers and all made their mark in rock history with music, image and fashion. Relive the eighties with the icons that will bring back the memories of songs that created the best days of our lives!

The Yellow Dog Project

Yellow Dog Project my dog needs space in the park

What Is Yellow Dog?

The Yellow Dog Project was created to bring awareness to dogs who need space while training, recovering from surgery, or being rehabilitated.

If you are out and see a dog with a yellow ribbon or something yellow attached to the lead it means ‘this dog needs space.’ So please try to keep your pet a safe distance away from the yellow ribbon dog. 🙂

A 2 year old and her first dog ♥

i love dogs back ground poster wallpaper puppy love

It became quite clear that Amelia was an extreme dog lover the day she started to bark, in fact Amelia barked before her first words. She would crawl to the gate with excitement when she heard the neighbour out with her dogs and get quite involved in a well attempted ‘Bark-off’!

At this moment it was clear I would have to get her a puppy…

From the minute they met they were inseparable. There has never been pulling of the ears, biting, scratching or anything else people imagined would happen. Instead there were gentle nibbles from Bell (Yorkie x Scottie) and tummy rubs from Amelia and of course a tag team for bark offs. Where you see Amelia you see Bell, If we did not love her so much we would accuse her of being the best photo bomber of all time.

As soon as we reach the drive way Bell is there to greet her best friend, She jumps into the car chair and they share big kisses and loves, followed by many giggles and Amelia screaming BE BE! She is after all 20 months so I’m sure the “L” will come.

I never realised just how attached they were until Bell was admitted to hospital this week. Amelia spent all day looking for her friend calling BE BE! She was so confused and I dreaded what the outcome may be. It was heart breaking, and even more so when the teacher pointed out there was a definite change in Amelia’s behaviour the next day. Luckily the vet called and said I could fetch Bell (after saying that there was a possibility she would not make it), as I walked to the car with Amelia, she was crying and very moody. I said look who is here… and she lit up instantly, she started giggling & pointing, saying BE BE, and continued to do this all the way home. Amelia continued at home and made herself quite comfy next to Bell in her bed. She rubbed her gently and it seemed she was looking after her puppy.

How amazing these two are, I am the happiest, proudest mom to both my girls. May they stay BFF’s 😉
